  Noche de San Juan

  On June 23 every year the night of San Juan is celebrated in Compostela as in the rest of Galicia. Santiago de Compostela that day is filled with bonfires, where the people of Compostela jump over them to ward off the "witches". That night the city smells of llamas and sardines, because it is a star dish that day. Nor can you forget the traditional "queimada", which is an alcoholic drink prepared in a ritual and served on fire. It is undoubtedly one of the most magical nights of the year, you cannot miss it.

  Fiesta de la Ascensión

  The Ascension festivities, after the Apostle Santiago, are one of the most important in the city, their dates vary because they are celebrated on the sixth Thursday after Easter. They last about a week. They are festivals in which cultural and recreational events are enjoyed, such as the most important cattle fair and equestrian exhibitions. It is also traditional to enjoy the octopus in the carballeira de Santa Susana.
